FamilySearch: Online Research Communities

Connect With New Online Research Communities

Dear Family History Enthusiast,
We are excited to announce several new online research communities sponsored by FamilySearch, and we would like to invite you to join! Through these communities, you and fellow researchers in your area can:
  • Collaborate on your research.
  • Ask questions of each other.
  • Share your successes.
  • Share knowledge you have gained as you've done your own research in specific areas.

You are invited to take part in shaping the future of this pilot program and what these communities will become. These groups are being created on both Facebook and Skype. You have the opportunity to join on either or both of these sites.

You Can Help
Joining these new online communities is a way to connect with other researchers in your area and help answer their questions.

Groups are currently available for those researching in the following locations:

Countries United States

Click on the links above to go to the Facebook groups, or see instructions to join a Skype group. More groups will be added over time. See also:

Request a Group for Another Area
Because this is a pilot program, groups are limited in number.  If there is not a group already created for the area you are researching, you can request that a group be added or volunteer to be an administrator for a group. New groups will be created as their is interest and volunteer admins come forward to help out.
