Friday, 30 June 2017 is the last day to register for one of our eleven courses at the 2017 Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR). Courses will take place in Athens, Georgia at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel 23-28 July 2017. The UGA Hotel within the Center for Continuing Education is full. Rooms are still available at The Graduate Hotel, but these rooms must be reserved by Friday, 7 July 2017 to take advantage of the IGHR group rate. If you are unable to attend a course at IGHR this year, you can still take advantage of the FamilySearch Family History and Genealogy Expo and Evening Sessions. Both events take place at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Parking is available in the adjacent parking deck.
The FamilySearch Family History and Genealogy Expo will take place Sunday, 23 July 2017 and is free and open to the public! No registration is required. Various genealogy and history related organizations and vendors will have displays to help interested people explore genealogy resources and educational opportunities. IGHR Evening Sessions will be held Monday through Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. 24-26 July 2017. Evening Sessions are open to the public for the nominal fee of $15 each. Cash and credit cards will be accepted at the door but registration by 17 July 2017 guarantees a handout.
