Global Alliance of Genealogy Professionals

We are recruiting professionals to join an Alliance of pros in many fields related to Genealogy Research and family history.

Get in touch and we can discuss your area of expertise and see how you will fit into the group. Look at the listings on the website to see if your area is covered. Those who are in first will get first pick of the States and countries where they reside *. If there is not a tab for your specialty, it can be easily added. The list is obviously not complete, since the website has only been active since July 8th. We are primarily APG members and former ExpertConnect experts. This is a replacement for ExpertConnect, keeping the good and replacing that which was not. The services offered are similar. There is no rating system and we are not taking a portion of your income from each contract since there is no escrow service. We are asking for $25 as yearly dues to cover our costs. We are emphasizing cooperation and collaboration so there is no bidding process. This does foster an attitude where working together and even partnering on projects is possible and encouraged and where referrals can be made when appropriate. There is arbitration where needed, but we emphasize communication with clients during the entire process, which will reduce or eliminate that need. We subscribe to the code of ethics of APG and expect all to abide by those principles. The Wiki has an excellent article on Hiring a professional Researcher.

We have a temporary website and there are listings on the FamilySearch Wiki, which is linked to this address. (Last year there were 306,076 unique visitors to the Wiki site) There are other opportunities for advertizing that we are pursuing at this time which will be announced when appropriate. This is a global effort and we are literally covering the globe with skills that will benefit those seeking our services. All the States will be covered, European countries, Canada, South America and others as they become available. We are not limiting geographic or language possibilities.

*Some States and countries have been divided into regions where there are multiple repositories. These States need representatives: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California (Southern and Sacramento), Florida, Idaho, Illinois (except Chicago), Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Wisconsin, & Wyoming
